5 Tips for a Stylish Thanksgiving

It's time to dig out your favourite tableware and tablelinens, stock up on candles, ribbons and flowers as the grand Thanksgiving Dinner is nearly upon us.

You all know how much I love decorating so here are my finely honed 5 tips for a very stylish Thanksgiving.

CHOOSE A COLOUR THEME - The art of the tablescape, is exactly, well, that: an art. And planning your colour theme is really important. I love burgundy at this time of year as it compliments the Autumnal hues outdoors and lends a chic cosiness indoors.

My burgundy bubbles ceramic plates look fabulous layered over my bubbles French linen tablecloth, and burgundy placemats. There's no holding back here.

INCORPORATE PUMPKINS INTO THE TABLE -Β  Pumpkins are most definitely not just for Halloween! I love using them in a whole host of ways on my Thanksgiving table.

Here I've used one as a vase bursting with Autumnal blooms but I've also used them to serve soup, and the mini ones if painted can be used as an alternative to place setting name cards.

BOWS AND BUD VASES - My tablescapes are unashamedly maximalist. So bring out your bud vases but add a bow on to them! This will also look great on a Christmas holiday table too.Β  I've chosen burnished gold and bronze colour ribbon to echo the Autumn leaves which marries beautifully with my burgundy bud vases.

DON'T HOLD BACK ON CANDLES - I love the look of a table which is twinkling as your guests walk in for a real Wow factor. And frankly the more candles the better. There's nothing more welcomingΒ  - and add a scented candle for extra atmosphere. This is my new Vellum candle which launches on Nov 5th and blends with whatever colour theme you have chosen.

DO INVEST IN AN AUTUMNAL DOOR WREATH - I adore door wreaths and this year I've chosen this beauty made entirely of Autumn leaves. And of course adorn with a bow!

Enjoy your decorating and Happy Thanksgiving!

This pumpkin candle from Graham and Green will be a great addition to any Thanksgiving table. And it smells of toffee just for extra delicousness!

I love mixing high and low accessories on my tablescapes. And how chic are these tortoiseshell highball glasses from M and S. Tortoiseshell is an elegant classic for all seasons so you'll use these over and over again. I think they look much more expensive than they are.

Makeup Artist Lisa Eldridge's new refillable lipsticks are a masterclass in design and quality. The retro golden lipstick case is weighty and feels like a touch of old school glamour. And the lipsticks themselves are exquisite. You can monogram the lid too so they make great presents. Or a lovely treat for yourself.

I really adoreΒ The White Company's new fashion edit and this oversized parka is very much up my street. I like the relaxed fit and oversized hood which makes it practical as well as super stylish.

I've always loved Le Creuset kitchenware for its superb quality. The new colourways are so beautiful and I've got my eye on this cast iron shallow casserole dish in the colour Thyme. Quite literally the colour of my kitchen. A match made in heaven I think.
