Valentine's Day chez DB
You know by now that for me any excuse is a laudable one to celebrate something and dress the table and ourselves with carefree abandon (maintaining a level of chicness of course)!
And Valentine's Day is the perfect opportunity to keep things chaud in the kitchen, dining room and elsewhere.
Whether your celebrating with a loved one, your family or girlfriends, here are myValentine's suggestions to help create the vibe and show whoever you're with that you went that extra mile to make it a special day.

Setting the scene with breakfast in bed is an irresistible beginning to the day.
I like to make it extra special with the non negotiables such as flowers (ideally in a sturdy bud vase that won't wobble when you're carrying the tray), freshly squeezed juice in a stylish pitcher and Pain Perdu or some buttery pastries. It's the one day along with birthdays and Christmas that cake and croissants are de rigueur.

On the decorating front this year I'm inspired by sultry Wuthering Heights vibes (the film is out this week) adding bows to bud vases and goblets along with dark backdrops, anemones and claret coloured candles to make my Valentine's Day a memorable one.
Flowers will always be centre stage on Valentine's day whether you're receiving them or decorating your hallway or living area with them.
My pitchers as the perfect vessel for any floral arrangement - whether it's the Go Big or Go Home variety or a more softly spoken free-flowing romantic bouquet. The pitchers' fluted rim support the flowers so beautifully and I love that they multi-task in this way.
And I think this huge bunch of dark, velvetty anemones would be the perfect, brooding love token from Heathcliff to woo back Catherine Earnshaw.

And of course once the sun sets, candlelight is key. I personally love a dark, moody table flickering with candles at various heights which works for any gathering of friends as well as Valentine's Day.
My bud vases and cake stands blend beautifully when placed amongst a collection of candles for a sumptuous and stylish setting.
The proportions of my budvases work well whether you're want to use a single stem or a small bunch of blooms. You really don't need more than 3 stems per vase.
They are also great presents filled with flowers - and like all good love stories and friendships, they last forever.
Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

I'm loving Merit's new Signature Lip Blush in this sheer matte red. Unlike traditional mattes, it's sheer with a blurred, velvet finish (no lipstick feathering) that lasts all day without feeling dry or cakey. One swipe or several leaves a modern matte finish that feels like a balm.

I love new sunglasses and just because it's Winter, it doesn't mean you need to stop wearing them. I Iove Jimmy Fairly who creates lighter lens for Winter months. These new Luz Lenses are high fashion to brighten up a Winter's day.

Original BTC and Buchanan Studiopresent 5 new handmade lights, making mouth-blown glass the irresistible hero. Made and designed in the UK.

There is a brilliant Wes Anderson exhibition at the Design Museum. My whole family is obsessed with his films and this exhibition delves into his archives. Highlights include this pink model of the Grand Budapest Hotel, Gwyneth Paltrow's Fendi fur coat from the Royal Tenenbaums and a model of Mr Fox in his corduroy suit from Fantastic Mr Fox.
I've been working with online platform Wardrobe Icons since its inception 12 years ago and I love what they do and their new Icons club is no exception. You can get access to a whatsapp style helpline, some very good fashion and beauty discounts and members only events.
