5 Easy Ways to Upgrade your Easter Table

From bunnies to baskets and chocolate at breakfast, I love Easter! And as per usual chez moi it's any excuse to dress up a table!

Easter is such a joyful celebration and leaning into the springiness of the holiday for the Brett household it's all about egg hunts, bunny ears and copious amounts of chocolate.

When it comes to the lunch table, I always run riot with a pastel colour palette and a tumbling of spring blooms. Here are my 5 easy tips to make your table pop!

STICK TO A COLOUR THEME - I love a teal table at Easter and in general at this time of year as its the perfect neutral to accompany fresh Spring flowers. Most green hues work well to blend in with the pastels.

As Easter is so early this year, muscari and hyacinths are still in bloom and look beautiful mixed in with green and eggy yellows.

LAYER YOUR BUDVASES - Rather than a singular floral centerpiece, adding a cluster of small bud vases along your table creates a much prettier tablescape.

And sticking to a palette of 3 flower colours is my rule of thumb to ensures an elegant display.

DEPLOY A CAKE STAND FOR SPRING BLOOMS - You all know how much I love a multi-tasking cake stand. Adorning one with a couple of bud vases adds height and drama to a table.

If it's evening, you could add some tea lights or candles for an atmospheric, candle-lit Easter supper.

ADD SOME BUNNY EARS - my bunny ear napkins are so easy and a fun way to bring some of your chocolate stash to the table. I always like having edible treats as part of the table decor.
To make them simply fold a square napkin in half so you have a triangle shape. Then fold down the pointed edge to make a rectangle. Then roll the rectangle into a long sausage , add a napkin ring  and pull out the bunny "ears" and pop in a mini egg.

If you're not feeling this creative, simply add little bowls of mini eggs dotted  around the table.

MARBLING EGGS  - this could be a fun afternoon activity if you've all had enough chocolate!

For these I used nail varnish and acrylic paint. I have a tutorial here if you fancy having a go. It's much easier than it looks and creates beautiful Florentine effect marbled eggs which can be stored and brought out each year.

However you spend your day, I wish you all a very Happy Easter!

If you haven't tried Rhode's buildable creamy blush stick I'm going to preface this by saying it's a game changer. Instantly lifts cheekbones and frankly makes you look younger. Makeup bag magic. I love it smooshed on lips too for cool girl chic. There's a reason this blush stick sells out.

I'm always willing to embrace my inner cowgirl with a fringed accessory. Call It By Your Name's new bucket bag comes with fringing and attitude and is my new bag for Spring. Pair it with dark glasses and a bandana for added panache which makes it feel as at home in Montana or Paris.  I love the timeless feel of this bag which I know I'll enjoy for years to come.

A suede jacket is a trans-seasonal staple adding practicality and 90's chic to your wardrobe. I love my oversized version from Sézane who always manage to combine French flair with an affordable pricepoint. I love pairing it with a wide leg jeans or shrugged over the shoulders with dresses and skirts.

Post Easter if you're feeling the need for an eating reset I recommend a flip through Petronella Ravenshear's HBD Cookbook which combines her science backed healthy eating plan with some delicious new recipes. Yasmin Le Bon is a fan as am I of Petronella's approach to food. It's not a diet, more of a way of life. But it definitely keeps tummies flat, energy levels optimum and you will drop a dress size if that's your goal.

I can't wait to bake up some treats in The White Company's new seagrass oven dishes. For crumbles, roasted veggies or delicious tray bakes, these are going to be an alfresco serving staple for me this summer.
