Sharing Your Food and The Love

There’s something about summer and sharing. Plates heaving with freshly made salads and grilled fish. Slices of watermelon stacked, begging to be bitten into. The abundance of delicious food prepared with love. And it’s this sharing of food to celebrate togetherness that will continue throughout the year. I’m looking forward to hosting my family in October to celebrate Roshanana, the Jewish New Year and joining American friends in November to celebrate Thanksgiving and then of course it’s Christmas (too early to talk about that now!)

The idea that plated food, eating what’s being placed in front of you, is old hat. Instead platters and bowls filled with food and handed round a table, choosing what and how much you fancy and savouring it. That’s what speaks of modern dining, and its one of the reason I’ve created so many serving dishes and platters in our flow collection.

Each of my platters from the raised stands to our round serving platters, long flow platters or flow bowls can be used for a whole range of different foods. Starters of crudité or fresh salads, to crispy chicken thighs and mounds of steaming pasta, Versatility is their middle name.

Above I’ve used our large round platter to stack mixed raw vegetables around our medium flow bowl filled with home made hummus. And below I’ve used the same platter as a tray to house our pitcher filed with cold gazpacho and small flow bowls filled with croutons.

Our raised platters/cake stands are also supremely versatile. Use one or two along the centre line of your table, as a decorative element with vases, fruit and sweet treats. Or use them to serve salads and vegetables and leave on the table for guests to help themselves. My favourite is to use these elegant raised platters as a cheese plate (shown below) to finish off your meal in style.

One of our most popular shapes is the long flow platter. they come in three sizes, s,m and l and can be bought as a trio or individually. Below I’ve used our long flow platters to serve a fresh chopped salad (medium) and broccoli slaw (small). they’re light and their slim line shape make them easy to pass down the table and share. And once you’ve used them they stack beautifully inside one another.

They’re perfect for desserts too. From cookies and brownies piled high to fresh slices of melon. Each platter is available in our four colour ways, Blue, Burgundy, Teal, and Vellum.

When you’ve finished using your platters and bowls, they look beautiful left out on display or can be easily stacked, with each ruffle nestling into the piece below.
